What a great outing!  Residents hopped on the bus for a visit to the Richmond Altria Theatre on June 28th.  Formerly known as the ‘Mosque,’ the theatre was built in 1928 by the Acca Temple Shriners and sits on a busy corner in Monroe Park.  WCVE Public Radio Theatre Critic John Porter acted as announcer for the evening, and together with Director of the Richmond Pops Band Joe Simpkins put on a lovely show.  Residents were treated to musical selections from artists like John Philip Sousa and Louie Armstrong, along with a tremendous performance by Saxophonist Extraordinaire” Chad Smith of music by 1920’s artist Rudy Weidoeft. With lights dim and smiles wide, the evening turned out to truly be one to remember.
