Little Sisters bid farewell to friends and families at Mass of Thanksgiving
More than 200 people gathered Saturday morning, April 24, to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Little Sisters of the Poor St. Joseph’s Home in Richmond to mark the farewell of the Little Sisters. Due to a decline in vocations, they are leaving after more than 147 years of service to the elderly poor in the diocese. They have sold the property, which will be operated by Accordius Health. The Little Sisters who are leaving Richmond will now serve in Washington, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Chicago, Mobile and Pittsburgh.
