As all of Virginia knows, Monday afternoon brought a surprising storm full of strong winds, rains, and even a tornado. As C.J. Meade described it, “Mother Nature had a big sneeze!” But God was sure watching out for the Residents of St. Joseph’s Home because no one was injured and the Home did not sustain any major damage. Five trees and bunches of branches came down during the quick, yet violent, storm, leaving the Home without power for thirty minutes and without internet and cable for two days. Even so, Sr. Colette noted that “not a single flower was ruined!” Many of the employees joined forces with a few volunteers up from the Home in Mobile, AL to clean up the debris and cut up the fallen trees. Check out the photos to see all the excitement!
