The 4th Annual Little Sisters of the Poor Golf Tournament was held on Monday September 17 at Jefferson Lakeside Country Club. We could not have been luckier with the weather – St. Joseph held the rain just long enough for all of the golfers to finish playing and get inside for the dinner and awards reception.
The day got off to a great start with registration at 11:30 and lunch catered by Noodles & Company. Once the golfers had checked in and stuffed their bellies – all 148 of them! – the tournament started promptly at 1:00. Over the next 6 hours, 37 teams of golfers played 18 holes of golf and participated in a putting contest, closet-to-the-hole contest, and longest drive contest. Following the tournament, the day concluded with a delicious BBQ dinner complete with ice cream sundaes and the presentation of awards, grand raffle drawing, and silent auction.
Thank you to all of our major sponsors, especially Page Auto Group, for making this day possible. Thank you also: Family Care Pharmacy, Beverly Rothert, The Wauford Group, Friends of St. Mary’s Church, MercerTrigiani, LLP, NTouchTel, Richmond Buddhist Temple, Mary Washbourne, Air, Water & Soil Laboratories, St. Catherine of Siena Women’s Association, Noodles & Company, Jack Daniels, and Bunkie Trinite Trophies. We’d also like to thank all of the many friends and companies who participated as hole sponsors. Without all of your support, we couldn’t have raised our record-breaking $67,000!
Last but not least, we’d like to extend our immense gratitude to all of our volunteers for putting in the time to pull off this event: John Vandersyde, Mary Freundt, Mary Smith, Mary Washbourne, Neil Drozeski, and the event co-chairs, Stephanie and Steve Emerson.
