These simple words of our foundress, Saint Jeanne Jugan, are the guiding words for the Little Sisters of the Poor and our staff. Whatever the changes in our society, whatever the circumstances, the greatest need of the elderly is to be loved and needed.

We are grateful to the compassionate people who have partnered with us to meet the needs of elderly men and women who have outlived their resources. Because of their generosity, thousands of elderly Virginians from all walks of life, of all religions and beliefs, have found a happy home with us since 1874.
